Pepsi....I see what you did there

Some people are up and arms about one of Pepsi's Superbowl commercials. They (the upset people) are calling the ad racist. Saying that the wife is playing the stereotypical role of the angry controlling black woman who is jealous of the blond headed white lady. The age old Sapphire character.

"The Sapphire Caricature portrays Black women as rude, loud, malicious, stubborn, and overbearing. This is the Angry Black Woman (ABW) popularized in the cinema and on television. She is tart-tongued and emasculating, one hand on a hip the other pointing and jabbing (or arms akimbo), violently and rhythmically rocking her head, mocking African American men for offenses ranging from being unemployed to sexually pursuing White women."

"You got of course the controlling angry black woman with a busted weave.

The black man who has no self control & cheats.....

The innocent white skinny blonde who wears skimpy clothes and dreams of butterflies and rainbows."

...hmmmm seems like they hit the nail on the head with this commercial. But um.... I'm not completely convinced that this is just straight up racism. 

Honestly I'm quiet sure a large chunk of white America was pissed at this commercial. Think Emmit Till.....Or more recently the controversial vogue photo-shoot that featured Lebron James and Gisele Buchen.... White and black folks was trippin off that one.

mmmhmmm Pepsi. You tryna stir something up aint you? A whole lot of thought and money goes into commercials. Especially commercials that are played during the Superbowl. Nothing in that commercial is by chance. You best believe that when they had the casting call for this commercial they were race specific.

Bad publicity is better than no publicity right? Pepsi, I see what you did there.
